Welcome to Little Sandpiper

Hello! Nice to meet you friend. My name is Jade, and I'm a mom, software engineer, and former summer camp director living in LA.

I'm a mom to a two and four year old. They, along with my husband Tom, are my favorite adventure buddies. Together we've been exploring this city one neighborhood at a time, and we quickly learned that LA is full of incredible hidden gems and incredible people.

I often find these magical places by accident or via a suggestion from a generous mom at the park, or in our beloved South Bay facebook group. Other times, I have to spend hours searching through Facebook groups and other online forums. Last year I spent weeks across 3 different Facebook groups trying to find an awesome summer camp for my 4-year-old, only to discover the perfect camp was 5 minutes from our house. And I kept thinking about all the parents who might never find these programs at all.

In the time I've lived here, I've met so many people doing extraordinary work with kids. It made me want to create something that helps parents discover these amazing programs without all the trial and error.

You know those little sandpipers at the beach, darting around in the surf looking for treasures in the sand? That's basically what I've been doing, except I'm searching for the places that'll help your kids grow, play, and most importantly, figure out what lights them up with joy.

Working at summer camps taught me what parents are looking for and what truly makes programs special for kids. I get both sides, and that's shaped everything I share here.

Little Sandpiper helps families spend less time searching and more time discovering what makes each child light up.
